About Us

Broadaxe Timber Frames evolved from Firth Construction which was founded by our Managing Director, Lewers firth.

Lewers started his career in joinery & cabinet making over 20 years ago, before progressing into site carpentry where Firth Construction was then formed. As Firth Construction grew so did the self-build timber frame market. We were asked by clients to provide a timber frame package and we rose to the challenge.

Firth Construction have always produced their own timber frames using a joinery approach. Unsatisfied with the quality of products available, Firth Construction crafted their frames by hand in their self built workshop.

Bespoke, tailored packages

After several years of building timber frame eco homes through Firth Construction we decided to launch Broadaxe Timber Frames.

Broadaxe Timber Frames now supply bespoke timber frames for the self-builder using our building system to achieve a high quality, high performance, low energy building.

We offer tailored packages so the extent of our involvement in the project is up to you, the client.

Our workshop

Our buildings are made by hand in our workshop, based on the Powys - Herefordshire border in Mid-Wales.

We welcome clients to our workshop to meet the team and to see their panels in production.
